Online advertising platforms are constantly changing and evolving. Below, we’ll explore a new feature from Meta’s platform suite that will help us optimize sales campaigns generated through Ads Manager using WhatsApp Business tools.

Tags to mark conversations

For some time now, WhatsApp Business has allowed you to apply labels to conversations with users of the messaging app. There are four predefined labels for this purpose, and it also allows the creation of custom labels, making the tool more adaptable when classifying conversations and, therefore, for the user.

Advertising campaigns

Now, on the other hand, within Meta Business, we can create different types of campaigns through the Ads Manager within an Advertising Account. This new integration is primarily aimed at sales campaigns using WhatsApp. While it will interact with all campaigns, these types are expected to show greater variability and optimization in their results.

Sharing data

For everything to work, you need to activate the “Ad Data Sharing” option, which can be found in the business tools section. Once everything is configured, the messaging app will report to Ad Manager the data on which user placed an order, which paid for their order, and which orders have been completed. With this data, Ad Manager will profile the user type. Using this profile, it will search the Account Center for similar users and show them ads to improve the conversion rate. This new integration aims to reduce or eliminate the percentage of unproductive results generated by WhatsApp sales campaigns.

How to use it?

Two conditions must be met.

The first is to activate “data sharing,” as explained above.
The second condition is to use only the predefined labels included with WhatsApp Business.

As conversations are labeled, once they reach 20 labels, the Ad Manager will begin measuring and counting conversions to optimize its bids, seeking to reach users who are primarily similar to those tagged as “paid order” and “completed order.”

What happens if I use non-predefined (or custom) tags?

The tool will not consider these conversations because they are not values it can use for its work. For this reason, it is recommended not to use them or to keep in mind that the conversation is automatically discarded in the optimization.

Is there a minimum investment required for my WhatsApp chat sales campaigns to be effective?

The platform recommends a minimum daily investment of at least $7 USD to maintain campaign effectiveness, and a monthly investment of at least $250 USD is recommended for significant results. Anything less than $7 USD per day will result in campaigns with fewer conversions.

At Strike, we’re very excited about this new integration and look forward to supporting all our advertisers with this new tool and comparing the optimization results. Let’s get going!
